Description of Doll for Sale
Here is a classic example of a Queen Elizabeth coronation doll by Madame Alexander. Queen Elizabeth is model number 2025, from the Beaux Art Creations of 1953 made to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. The 17 inch hard plastic Margaret faced queen was made only in 1953 and 1954. It was replaced by the more common Cissy faced version. In the 1953 version (which this doll is) the blue sash was very pale and made from plain ribbon. The 1954 version of the sash was darker and made from moiré ribbon.
The queen has her mitts, bracelets, sash with jewelry and chain, earrings and crown. The tagged dress, hoop skirt, stockings and panties are all original and have never been washed. The hoop skirt is intact with no rust or breaks. The hoop does have some kinks in it. I smoothed some of them out to take the pictures but it will need some fine tuning to get it back in round. Queen Elizabeth's hair is in it's original factory set with just a few stray ends. She is missing her shoes and cape.
The dress is marked as follows:
Madame Alexander // All Rights Reserved // New York U.S.A.
Condition of Doll for Sale
The hard plastic head and body is in original condition with no chips, cracks, rubs or repaint. The eye lashes are intact. The vintage clothes are in original condition with no foxing, stains, rips or repairs. The crown is missing some stones and the backing of the right earring has tarnished.
The doll may have wear and flaws seen in used dolls. I try to describe significant flaws in my text and show them in picture. Read the text and examine the pictures to be sure you understand the dolls condition. If you have questions please email me.
