Description of Doll for Sale
This is a beautiful example of a bisque head baby made by Heubach Koppelsdorf in the early 1920's. The doll has a replacement dress made from vintage materials. She also has via vintage replacement slip, shoes and socks. She has an all bisque doll with her that was made in Japan. She has her original mohair wig. It is a little matted but there is enough hair there to be able to restyle it nicely.
The mark is interesting in that it lists the location of origin as Thuringia which is the German state where the doll was made. The doll may have been intended to be sold in Germany or it is possible they did not want to mark it Germany because of foreign prejudice against Germany after the first world war.
The head is marked as follows: Note: DRGM refers to a copyright protection within Germany.
Heubach // 267 . 9/0 // Koppelsdorf D.R.G.M // Thuringia.
