Description of Dressel Doll for Sale
We are pleased to present a great example of an antique bisque character faced doll made by Cuno & Otto Dressel (COD). This doll was made in Germany during the late 1890's up to about 1910. The doll is 20 inches tall. She is wearing an antique slip decorated with very fine cut work design which could be original to the doll. She has a vintage replacement human hair wig and new white socks. .
The S & H mark on the head indicates that the head was molded and fired for COD by Simon and Halbig. Dressel designed their own heads but contracted many German makers including Simon & Halbig to fire them.

Condition of Doll for Sale
The bisque head is perfect with no chips, cracks, rubs or repaint. The glass eyes are set in the head and do not sleep. The body has its original finish with no cracks or crazing. The balls on the hip joints have a lot of wear. The neck socket on the body has been repaired, filled and repainted.. The antique clothes are in good shape with no foxing, stains, rips or repairs.
