Description of Doll for Sale
For your enjoyment a great example of a character faced bisque head doll by Kammer Reinhardt (K & R). This doll was made in Germany in the early 1900's to 1920's and is 13 inches tall. The doll is on a fully jointed (including wrists) composition ball jointed body. The head was fired by Simon Halbig based on a design master head provided by Kammer Reinhardt (K star R). The doll has glass sleep eyes and inset teeth and tongue. The head is clearly marked but does not have a mold number or Germany. This unnumbered doll is seen most often in this size but is also seen in larger sizes. The lack of a mold number or Germany on the head may point to it being a special order for some European retailer. It is also an open mouth which is less often seen in Kammer Reinhardt teen and adult dolls.
The doll is wearing a new very well tailored dress and underwear made with vintage materials and trim. It also has a new mohair wig and shoes. The shoes are three strap side button closure which is hard to imagine on a doll only 13 inches tall.
The Simon Halbig mark is on the head because they fired the head from a master head made by Kammer Reinhardt. Kammer Reinhardt actually assembled and sold the doll. There is a 34 low on the neck which is a size number for the head not a mold number.
The head is marked as follows:
Simon Halbig // K star R // 34
