Description of Doll for Sale
Here is a great 18 inch composition Shirley Temple doll made in late 1934 or early 1935. The marks indicate she is an early second issue doll made after Ideal signed the licensing agreement with Shirley Temple's Mother. She has the second issue head with the copy rite pending mark and Shirley Temple. She is on unmarked body that was used on the first issue doll in early 1934. Shirley Temple dolls were the "Must Have" Christmas toy for 1934. Ideal was working full bore but couldn't meet demand. They would probably not have discarded an unmarked body just because the body with the mark had been released.
Shirley has an original dress. She has replacement shoes and panties. The vintage dress is called the triangle dress and has been washed and repaired. One repair is the seam at the waist where the tag was removed. The composition finish is all original with no repaint. Shirley has her original wig still in the factory set.
Head mark: Shirley Temple // Cop // IDEAL // N.&T.Co.
