Description of princess Elisabeth Doll for Sale
This is a great example of a Princess Elizabeth Doll. Princess Elizabeth is all composition and is 13 inches tall and is unmarked. The face resembles an Arranbee Nancy doll but it is hard to be sure. Certainly she was made by a first line maker (Arranbee, Effanbee or Madame Alexander). She was likely an attempt to ride the coattails of the very popular Madame Alexander Princess Elizabeth doll. This doll was made to commemorate Princess Elizabeth when she became the Princess of Wales and heir to England's throne in 1936. This doll is all original and includes her taffeta and organdy gown, and straw hat. The original wig is in the original set. She wears her full slip with bloomers, white-knit socks, and side snap shoes.
The doll is unmarked as many Arranbee dolls were.
Condition of Doll for Sale
The composition head and body has its original finish with no chips, cracks, crazing rubs or repaint. The eyelids and lashes are in good shape. The clothes are in good shape but do have a few spots. The ribbon on the skirt has frayed some. The straw hat has one nibble on the edge.
The doll may have wear and flaws seen in used dolls. I try to describe significant flaws in my text and show them in picture. Read the text and examine the pictures to be sure you understand the dolls condition. If you have questions please email me.
