Description of Tete Jumeau Doll for Sale
I am thrilled to present a great example of an antique bisque head Tete Jumeau Bebe doll. This French Bebe has a desirable closed mouth and is a manageable size at 21 1/2 inches tall. This Tete was made in France by Jumeau with her original composition body from 1886 up to at the latest 1891 when the body stamp was changed. This Tete has beautiful Jumeau blue human form paperweight eyes with tremendous depth and clarity set off with wonderful feathered eye brows, eye shadow, eye lashes and hints of eye liner. The Tete's pouty closed mouth is expertly painted. The head has been lighted and is perfect. She is wearing a vintage replacement French human hair wig over her original cork pate. She has pierced ears and is wearing modern earrings.
The marked antique Jumeau composition and wood Bebe body is all original with its original finish. The Bebe body is fully jointed including jointed wrists. It has surprisingly little wear considering it is 125+ years old. The doll is wearing a modern replacement dress with a half slip and bloomers. She is also wearing a pair of vintage German oilcloth shoes.

Condition of Doll for Sale
The antique bisque head is perfect with no chips, cracks, rubs or repaint. The composition body has it's original finish with minimal wear. The original body stamp is present. Because this is an early body the finish is a little rough but I have inspected it closely and can see no repainting. There is slight wear on the edges of the joints. The vintage dress is in good shape with no foxing, stains, rips or repairs.
