I am pleased to present a great example of a vintage composition Shirley Temple doll. Shirley is a great cabinet size (13 inches) and was made by the Ideal Novelty and Toy company from 1935 to 1937. Shirley is wearing an original red coin dot Stand Up and Cheer dress with the original tag. Under the dress Shirley is wearing a onesie with an attached slip . Shirley is also wearing original vintage oilcloth shoes and rayon socks. Shirley's dress is in good condition. The dress has been washed and the tag is badly faded. She also has the original Shirley Temple pin.
Shirley's early original tin litho eyes are clean and clear with just a slight yellowing of the whites. Given the propensity for the Ideal Shirley Temple eyes to crack, crystallize and have a dead look I consider Shirley's eyes to be in amazing original condition. Shirley's hair is a little mussed but is all original in its factory set with her original red ribbon. Shirley's 5 piece composition body has not been repainted or compo craze concealed. There are no paint touch-ups or crazing on the body which is also amazing for Ideal composition dolls of this era.

Condition of Doll for Sale
The composition body has not been repainted or Compo Craze concealed. There is no crazing, chipping, paint rubs or lifting of the composition finish. The eyes are all original and are clear and bright. The eye lashes are in good shape but are worn on the sides. The whites of Shirley's eyes have yellowed slightly. The dress is all original and has no rips, repairs or foxing. It has been washed more than once but still has good color. There are some minor yellow spots on the dress and yellowing around the sleeves. This may be some transfer from the elastic in the sleeves. The strap on one of the shoes is broken where it connects with the snap.
