Description of Doll for Sale
I am pleased to present a cute example of an vintage strung Muffie doll from the Nancy Ann Storybook doll company. This is one of the early dolls and was made in 1953-54. Muffie appears to be wearing a variant of the original lace overlay dress seen on the first Muffies. It has the original flowers at the waist which is often seen on vintage Muffie Easter outfits. She has an original ribbon in her hair so it is unclear if she ever had a hat. She is wearing vintage Muffie vinyl snap shoes which may have been swapped from a latter Muffie. The 1953 Muffies usually had satin snap shoes. She is a type #1 Muffie with only painted upper lashes and no eye brows. She has a hard plastic strung SLW strait leg walker body. The walking mechanism works smoothly and moves the head as as expected. She has her original wig still in it's original factory set.
The body has the early Nancy Ann Storybook California mark without the Muffie name which indicates it is the earliest body.
Body mark: Storybook, Dolls, California
