I am pleased to have a beautiful French SFBJ Paris bisque head doll for sale. This doll represents a wonderful example of French bisque head doll making from the early 1900's. The Société Françise de Fabrication de Bébé & Jouets (SFBJ) was formed in 1899 by combining several French doll companies including Jumeau. She has a replacement wig and set glass eyes. The eyes were originally designed to sleep. At some point in the past the eye mechanism was set to not sleep resulting in a somewhat cross eyes expression. The head is perfect with no hairline. There is a bubble on the rim formed when the liquid slip was poured into the mold. I double checked this with a black light and the defect is from the factory and has no hairlines coming out from it. She has an all-original composition and wood ball jointed Jumeau styled body used by SFBJ on their early bisque head dolls. The body has been repainted.
She is wearing a vintage replacement jacket, dress, underwear, socks, shoes, and hat. The blue velvet in the jacket has some light faded on the front.

Measurements

The doll is 20 inches tall.

Marks
