WHS Co is the mark for W.H. Saart Company which hailed from Attleboro, MA and manufactured sterling, German silver, and silver-plated ware from 1906 to 1917. This beautiful mesh purse is made from German Silver and has an ornately engraved frame, with room to add your initials if you choose. The body is made of mesh and there are seven little silver metal balls accenting the bottom. A paper-clip style chain allows you to dangle this purse from your wrist. Unlined. Inside mark has the WHS Co logo as well as Ger. Silver. German silver is nickel silver, made of nickel, copper and zinc. Very good condition, with some expected tarnish for the age. I have not cleaned this purse, preferring the original patina, but I can't see where it would hurt if you chose to. Measures 6" x 6.5"
