Found in a jewelry store in Charleston, South Carolina, this lovely European Victorian pin is made from 14K yellow gold. There is a scrolled design at the sides and top, with little emeralds set at the 3:00 an 9:00 positions. The central plaque holds a blush-colored carved coral stone and is set white metal accented with rose-cut diamonds. The white metal is probably sterling silver, though it is untested. Marked 585 on the pin back, along with another unidentified mark. There are indications this pin once lived another life as a different piece, based on a little loop and post on the back. You could have a jump ring put on the loop on the back and wear this as a necklace as well. In excellent overall condition. Measures 1" x 1 1/4".
