Beautiful Victorian pin with floral center. Jewelry such as this was especially popular for bridal gifts, as the pearls were associated with purity. The mother-of-pearl backings were specifically made for each piece and the tiny hand-drilled pearls are strung with horsehair and tied to the frame. This flower is set with a rose cut diamond, which was a bit unusual and adds a sparkling touch. A few missing pearls on one end, which can be replaced if you choose - I have pearls from broken pieces I have picked up for just this purpose. Unmarked. The metal surround is silver, though I'm not sure if it's sterling. Measures 2 1/4" x 1 1/4".
