Stunning large Victorian era pin! A large faceted faux amethyst glass stone is the highlight of this piece. A gorgeous frame of pinchbeck encircles the stone. Scalloped prongs hold the stone in place. For those unaware, pinchbeck is a gold substitute invented during the Victorian era as a less expensive substitute for gold. It holds up remarkably well as evidenced by the excellent condition of this piece. Unsigned and measures 2" x 1 1/2".
