Too cool for school, these unique antique "pince nez" spectacle glasses are waiting to find a new home. Authentic antique, not a reproduction. Lovely clear glass lenses. This style of eyeglasses spring-clamp onto the nose. In excellent condition. The lenses are not cracked or chipped. Some small imperfections in the lenses, but only light scuffs. The frame is a tortoise shell pattern. The glasses come with their original clamshell case with worn maroon colored lining. This is a wonderful authentic late Victorian or Edwardian accent for a Steampunk costume ensemble! Enjoy!
Note: A Pince-nez (/ˈpɑːnsneɪ/ or /ˈpɪnsneɪ/, plural form same as singular; French pronunciation: [pɛ̃sˈne]) is a style of glasses, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, that are supported without earpieces, by pinching the bridge of the nose. The name comes from French pincer, "to pinch", and nez, "nose". (Wikipedia)
