This is a 1950s original pastel creation by Joan Mont in a 17" x 15" glass-covered gilt wooden frame. It is signed Joan Mont. It is beautifully framed and matted. This name is actually a pseudonym for Mrs. M. J. Van Voorst Vader who was born in the Netherlands in 1916. She studied at the Academie Julliard and Atelier Souverbie in Paris before coming to Canada in 1954. This lovely original pastel is in very good condition and includes the provenance on the back.
