Hummel # 391 GIRL WITH TRUMPET Gerhard Skrobek 1968
This is the sweetest little Hummel ~ only 2 7/8 inches x 2 inches, but oh how dear! With her compact body, chubby cheeks, enormous shoes & exquisite distillation of sentiment, she's sure to win your heart!
This special little Hummel was created by Gerhard Skrobek, the premier postwar master sculptor/ artisan of Hummel figurines at the Goebel porcelain company in Rödental, Germany.
Inspired by the drawings of Berta Hummel, who became a Franciscan nun, Skrobek transformed her drawings into three-dimensional figures. They were manufactured under her supervision until her death in 1946. Then, Strobek designed figurines based on the trove of sketches Berta Hummel left behind.
This little gem is in excellent condition. It would make a great gift or a wonderful addition to your collection.
