[ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ]
This is an early 1900s Bahr & Proschild 12" character bébé cabinet-size doll. She is marked "BP 604 4."
This baby is too adorable! An absolute must for any collector. She measures about 11-12", with blond hair, blue sleep eyes, and the cutest toddle mouth with two upper teeth.
She has a socket head on a 5-piece composition body. She's wearing a gorgeous, LONG (24" collar-to-hem) antique baby outfit with coordinating bonnet.
This is a hard-to-find size. She is such a cutie and will surely become a favorite in your collection!
The following photo props are not included: TEDDY BEAR, MIRROR.
Yes, she does come with the RATTLE!
[ CONDITION DETAILS ]
- Beautiful antique condition.
- No issues noticed with the bisque after careful examination.
- Composition in great condition with antique surface.
- The gown has some age fragility -- chipping at the hem -- and also some faint foxing on the front. SEE FINAL PHOTO.
As with all my listings (unless explicitly stated otherwise), this comes from a NON-smoking environment.
Please SUPERSIZE all photos for a full picture of this lovely doll lot's condition.
[ IMPORTANT! - MORE ABOUT CONDITION ]
Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have:
(1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of "hair" lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc., and
(2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes (in most cases!), repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc.
SO ... Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc. -- would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. Thank you.

Other Information
Requests to Hold Merchandise ...To be fair to all customers, we do not hold any item that is not yet paid for. In the case of a layaway inquiry, we do not hold any item for layaway until a down payment has been received. This means that the item shall continue to appear for sale to the public in our Ruby Lane store (as well as any other venues where we may have it listed for sale) until it is paid for, or (in the case of a layaway) until the down payment has been received.
Layaway Policy Details ...
Most of the dolls you see in our shop are eligible for the Layaway Plan. Dolls that have been newly listed are not eligible immediately, but in most cases are eligible after ten (10) days. Please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will let you know whether the doll you are interested in is eligible for the Layaway Plan.
A) TO START A LAYAWAY: Please contact us through Ruby Lane. We will send you a detailed payment plan, as well as information on how to start your layaway. (Do not just "Purchase-Order" the doll through Ruby Lane, since that would initiate a normal purchase -- requiring full payment.)
B) PLAN DURATION: The Basic Layaway Plan is 6 months, 7 payments (counting the Down Payment). Other Plan Durations (<>6 months) are considered upon request.
C) DOWN PAYMENT: All layaways begin with a Down Payment. Upon receipt of the Down Payment, we immediately take your doll "off the market" so no other customer can purchase it through Ruby Lane or any other venue where we sell our dolls.
D) PAYMENT AMOUNT: To calculate the Payment Amount, divide the doll's listing price by the Plan Duration + 1. (The "+1" is for the Down Payment which, upon receipt, starts the clock ticking on the Plan Duration.)
***
Example:
> For a doll priced at $700, with a 6-month Plan Duration -- starting on January 1st and ending July 1st -- the Payment Amount is $100.
> That is: $700 ÷ (6 months + 1) = $100.
> The Down Payment of $100 is due January 1st, and the 7th (and final) payment is due July 1st -- 6 months later.
E) DISCOUNTS: We gladly respond to requests for a discounted price on our dolls. However, we cannot offer a discount AND a layaway plan on the same doll.
F) ADDITIONAL MARYLAND GUIDELINES: Since Puddintain Dolls is a Maryland-based business, we adhere to all the additional consumer-friendly layaway regulations prescribed by the State of Maryland.
***
These Include:
> (1) your right to change your mind and cancel the layaway -- by sending us an e-mail within 7 calendar days of your Down Payment -- in which case you receive your ENTIRE Down Payment as a refund -- no Cancellation Fee in that case;
*
> (2) a 15-day grace period beyond the Payment Due Date of each payment before the layaway is automatically canceled (and Cancellation Fee applies);
*
> (3) your right to a receipt for each payment you make on layaway (NOTE: You receive an electronic receipt from PayPal and/or Ruby Lane with each payment, but a paper receipt can be mailed upon request.);
*
> (4) the 10% Restocking/Cancellation Fee.
*
Here is how the Restocking/Cancellation Fee works....
*
You receive a refund equal to whatever you have paid so far, up to the original list price of the doll at the time you started the layaway, minus the 10% Restocking/Cancellation Fee, in any of the following cases:
(a) if you cancel the layaway agreement 8 days or more after we receive the Down Payment;
(b) if you don’t make a payment within 15 days of its Due Date (which counts as an automatic cancellation); or
(c) if you return the doll after you receive it.
*
In all of the above cases, per Maryland law, the merchant may keep either 10% of the full price of the doll, or the amount of money you’ve already paid, whichever is less. (NOTE: Per Maryland regulations, whatever taxes, shipping, insurance, and/or return shipping you have paid are not part of the price of the doll itself, and are therefore non-refundable.)
