Antique Blue & White Oyster Plate
Lovely, Antique, " Weimar ", Blue and White, Delft, Hand Painted, Porcelain Oyster Plate. Featuring Five Wells, and a Center Well for Lemon and Sauce. Each Well features an individual unique design with a surround of raised swirls and beading separating each well. Attractive Scalloped Edge.

Weimar porcelain, also called Welmar, has a 200 year old history that dates back to 1790. The factory, known as C & E, Carstens Porcelain Factory, located in Blankenhain, Thuringia, Germany. Over the years, the company has gone by many different names. The company became nationalized after WWII, when it was renamed, VEB Porzellanwerk, " Weimar Porezellan", a name that held until 1990. During this time the company won awards for their fine china.
Measures 8 3/8" Diameter. Provenance ~ Germany Circa ~ 1905 - 1930. The backmark on this plate was used 1905, and onward. This is the shield of the Weimar Dukes.
The Condition is Very, Very Nice. Colors are Vibrant. There are no chips or cracks. Gift Quality !
