The origins of the Wood family on Stoke-on-Trent, go back over 250 years to the famous master potters, Ralph and Enoch Wood. The present company was founded in 1884. Under the family's management the firm expanded and not only known for their teapot sets, offered well designed quality earthenware. Research says the company closed its doors in 10/03, making Arthur Wood pieces even more collectable.
This Attractive, English, Pitcher measures 9 3/4" Tall by 8" wide from handle to spout. Marked on the bottom, " WOOD", Made in England.
Lovely, Colors of Brown's, with Black Accent. The featured Horse Handle is Black. The Embossed Design looks to be Horses racing through town. Smooth glossy finish.
Condition is quite nice. Slight crazing on the bottom. Circa, 1950's - 1960's.
