Handcrafted Wooden Child's Toy Airplane - Late 20th Century passenger jet-airliner aircraft. Very sturdily constructed with wonderful high-quality craftsmanship, and held together with heavy metal wood-screws. It is equipped with wooden fixed landing-gear struts, with three sets of two freely rotating all-wooden wheels and axles.
The wing-span is 12" inches and the nose-to-tail length is 14-1/2 inches. The height at the wing landing gear is 4-1/2 inches – the height at the tail it is 5". There is no maker's mark on this exceptionally well-constructed wooden airplane.
PHOTO NOTE: Photos often distort the clarity of the image and the intensity of the colors. The muted "grainy" look is exaggerated. The colors are actually vivid and the clarity much greater when viewed in person. Minor soiling, small blemishes and slight defects are exaggerated by the photo process, and are usually much less noticeable when viewed in person.
CONDITION NOTE: Aircraft is in excellent condition and extremely sturdy. All joints are tight and there are no cracks in the wood. The wings, rudder, stabilizers, ailerons and landing gear struts are all fixed and firmly attached. The wooden axles and wheels roll and spin freely on the landing gear struts. The paint job is in very good condition generally. The colors are bright, but there is some paint wear and blemishes from light use on edges and in spots on the fuselage. There are no significant scratches or damage to the wood, and the few surface blemishes in the paint are not distracting. Any flaws are obvious in the photos.
