1943-1945 WW Two-II-2 United States Army Infantry uniform winter overseas garrison side cap – brown with light blue infantry piping. Cap is lined with grey-green shiny cotton and has a brown leather sweat-band. I believe brown garrison caps were used with the brown winter dress jackets you see in WWII movies worn by Army soldiers stationed in England before D-Day.
No manufacturer's label. Guaranteed to be World War Two era vintage.
Size is also unmarked – but is approx. 20-1/2" inside circumference – which should make it somewhere between sizes 6-1/2 and 6-5/8.
This authentic piece of World War Two memorabilia came from the estate of Professor Roderick Caldwell - a Mathematics professor at the University of Rhode Island, and a World War Two veteran of the Army Infantry.
CONDITION: The pictures say it all. This cap is clean and in excellent condition. Stitching is tight and there are no holes. Leather sweat band shows wear from use. In bright light, some raised areas of the fabric have a slight "shine".
