Shaker Society Village Community vintage 19th Century antique candle-stand of butternut and maple, 24-1/4" high, comes from the Watervliet New York community circa 1840-1850, and features classic Shaker craftsmanship. Two-board top is 17-1/4" in diameter; splined and screwed into a round disk on a turned shaft over four snake legs.
Purchased at private auction of all Shaker items held at the Shaker Village Museum in Hancock, Massachusetts.
A wonderful piece of authentic Shaker furniture.
