Wonderful 1920's New York City real photo stereo view, looking west along Wall Street from Broad Street with Trinity Church, built in 1846, at the west end of Wall Street on Broadway – and featuring heavy 1920s foot traffic and period automobiles. Wall Street was named for a wall built by the Dutch to keep Indians and the British out of the Dutch settlement on lower Manhattan. Excellent Keystone real photo stereo-view.
To the right, the north side of Wall Street, is the United States Sub-Treasury Building - with a statue of George Washington the steps commemorating his inauguration as the First President on April 30, 1789. At the time that building served as Customs House for the Port of New York. On the left side you can just see the southwest corner of Wall and Broad streets where the New York Stock Exchange is located.
PHOTO NOTE: Curved cards do not always scan or photo well. The actual real photo images are clear, crisp and sharp. The close-up photo image is sharper than the gallery image, and actual images viewed through a stereo viewer are EVEN sharper than they appear in these photos. The grainy texture is not present in the original photos. Any light scratches and small defects are accentuated by the photo process, and are usually imperceptible through the stereo viewer. Any bright spots and shiny areas are reflections from the camera flash, and do not appear on the actual stereo view images.
CONDITION NOTE: The curved mounted images are in wonderful condition for their age. The left image is near flawless, with the exception of a very thin line at the top (outside the range of sight through the viewer) where the photo paper has pulled away from the card. The right image has a small brown spot on the Church tower, and small scuff on the sidewalk at the lower margin. These flaws are barely visible through the stereo viewer and do not distract from the focus of the view. Card shows very light soiling around the edges. The text on the back is in perfect shape.
