Four unused vintage linen Swampscott, Massachusetts postcards of the New Ocean House Hotel beachfront resort, vintage 1937 -1945. All are "Tichnor Quality Views", copyright by Boston, Massachusetts, publisher Tichnor Brothers, Inc.
During the 19th and early 20th Centuries, beachfront resort hotels such as the New Ocean House Hotel flourished, serving the annual influx of summer visitors to Swampscott. Notable summer guests included President Calvin Coolidge and his wife. None of the large Swampscott beachfront hotels remain standing today, most having been destroyed by fire or savage coastal storms. The New Ocean House burned down on May 8, 1969.
CONDITION: All four are un-posted and unused, and in near mint condition. No tears or significant. Some are lightly soiled on the edges or the back sides, from storage and handling. One has a small ink spot on the right front margin.
