1890s Victorian heavily embossed semi-glossy Antique vintage chromolithograph card of a fairy-pixie-sprite, with wings of white and red feathers - sitting inside a broken Easter egg-shell setting in a nest, and holding a wreath of Springtime flowers.
No publisher or lithographer is identified, but it is clearly top-notch. Rectangular-shaped card measures 5" wide x 3-3/4" high. Back is generally clean, with spots of glue residue.
PHOTO NOTE: The photo is somewhat deceptive - this card actually has a semi-glossy off-white finish. The imaging scanning process exaggerates texture, creases and small flaws, which is much less noticeable when viewed in person. The muted "grainy" look is a distortion. The photos also distort the clarity of the images and sometimes the intensity of the colors, which often appear more muted than they actually are. The colors are more vivid and the clarity greater when viewed in person.
CONDITION NOTE: LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE ATTACHED PHOTO. Condition is excellent for its age, but not perfect. Slight crushing damage to three corners – one tiny reinforced corner crease. Slight soiling in spots around the off-white border. The apparent flat texture is actually an embossed semi-glossy finish. Colors are strong and vibrant with virtually no color loss, when viewed in person. The glossy back has dark discoloration which appears to be under the finish. Card has no bends or tears. ALL DEFECTS ARE VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO.
