1890s Victorian school achievement award scroll-shaped lithograph card album scrap - embossed pink rose and red-breasted birds against a spring landscape color lithograph image - from an early 1890s Saint Louis album. The back has a hand-written ink notation on back that it was given to "Bertha Koenig" of Saint Louis for "arithmetic", but is otherwise blank. Lovely image of a village river with pink rose and red-breasted birds (possibly finches) on glitter-coated branches.
Card measures 6" x 4-1/2". An unsigned, but exceptionally fine, highly-detailed, quality lithograph.
PHOTO NOTE: Small defects are exaggerated by the scanning process, and are barely noticeable when viewed in person. The scanning process also distorts the clarity of the image and the intensity of the colors. The muted "grainy" look is a distortion. The colors are vivid and the clarity of this image is exquisite when viewed in person.
CONDITION NOTE: This card is fragile, but in exceptionally fine, if not mint, condition. Almost no album glue residue on the back.
