c1938 Mickey Mouse Disney cartoon character small vintage cardboard cut-out stand-up, copyright "W. D. Ent." - abbreviation for Walt Disney Enterprises frequently seen on early Disney items. An early version of Mickey hunting - with hunting cap on his head, falling backward, as he fires off both barrels of his double barrelled shotgun at once. Captioned on the bottom tab "Both Barrels". Hopefully Mickey knows what he is shooting at, and has taken his NRA gun safety class!!
This piece has three tabs with dotted-line fold points – the bottom tab with the caption which is folded out for a base, and the two sides, which are folded back for side support. Cut-out measures 3" wide x 3" high.
From the back-side, it looks like this might be a cereal box cut-out premium, but it could also be from a paper-doll book or game. Whatever it is, the copyright mark and the drawing style of this image of Mickey date it to the late 1930s, if not earlier.
