Vintage Alfred Bodderas No. 1508 German Christmas figural flat chocolate molds – Four identical five-inch Father Christmas flat moulds in one pewter frame - stamped with the Bodderas, Erndtbrook name and logo, and the number 1508.
Alfred Bodderas, of Erndtbrook, West Germany, manufactured chocolate molds from 1946-1970. These were probably made circa 1950s - 1960s. Comes from a set of high quality vintage molds which we acquired seven years ago as part of a collection of mostly German-made chocolate moulds, some of which are 80 years-old.
These molds have wonderful detail, and are soldered together inside a 5-1/2" x 10-1/2" steel frame.
CONDITION NOTE: These molds appear to be made of nickel. The interior surfaces have a bright silver finish with cloudy spots, and the backs have a dull silver cast. The brown spots on the interior of the right mold we believe are likely chocolate residue, rather than rust. The steel frame edges show some light surface rust. Molds may show some exterior wear in places. On the whole, the general condition inside and out is extraordinarily good.
