An exceptional late Victorian diamond star brooch, dating to 1890 with a central diamond of 0,75cts in a halo of silver set little rose cut diamonds. This central halo is surrounded by twelve diamond set rays encrusted with either 5 or 3 diamonds. The diamonds are H-I in colour and SI in clarity and are graduating in size from circa 4.5mm to 1mm from centre, all old rose cut diamonds, with a total, excluding the central 0,75cts stone, of 71 diamonds with a total estimated weight of 3.7cts, . The diamonds are all claw set in 14K Rose Gold on the top star and 18K yellow gold on the bottom star and back. gross weight 13.4 grams
The brooch measures 1.5 inches and has a screw in brooch fitting of a long pin and c clasp, which when removed allows the brooch to be worn as a pendant or be affixed to a tiara.
