An impressive looking platinum ring that has been set with an oval royal blue blue sapphire that is surrounded by 0,70 carats of well matched bright white diamonds. It has lovely millgrain detailing around the stones. This is when the edges of the metal have been worked with a knurling tool to produce tiny beads, hence the French name “Millgrain” meaning a thousand beads.
The sapphire has two large diamonds above and below it, each having a total carat weight of 0,25 cts. These diamonds are H in colour and VSI in clarity. The remaining 0.20 carats of diamonds are H-J in colour and VSI-SI in clarity and are pave set in scalloped millgrain setting around the main sapphire stone and are stepped in down the shoulders in the same scalloped setting. The shank has been widened at some point in this rings past and the enlargement was made with a small amount of 18KT white gold in the middle of the otherwise Platinum shank. The ring is not hallmarked but has been tested as Platinum
The ring is currently a US Size 8; UK Size P; Euro size 56 but is adjustable
The ring weighs 3.4g
Sold with minimal amounts of wear and tear perfectly in line with a piece of this age
It would make a pretty engagement ring.
