A large, Art Deco, cold painted bronze of a dancing Romanian girl after Demetre Chiparus (1896-1947). The original by Chiparus was titled 'Carnival.' It dates to circa 1930-1940 and is in very good condition. It measures 23 in H x 14 in W x 7 1/2 in D and weighs 13.25 pounds. Chiparus was a Romanian sculptor of the Art Deco Era who lived and worked in Paris, France. He was one of the most prominent sculptors of his time and his works were predominately dancing ladies in the Moulin Rouge style.
