A very pretty German porcelain hawk by Karl Ens, circa 1930. It is modeled in rich, vibrant colors with the hawk perched upon a tree stump. It has the Ens blue underglaze mark on the base of the stump. There is a hairline crack on one of the wings that is underglaze and appears to be from the original firing. There also appears to be a repair to the beak that is not noticeable in display but I can feel a little roughness with my fingertip. It stands 9 1/2 inches tall.
