Vintage Meito Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate, Japan ca. Mid-Century - image 1 of 12

DESCRIPTION: From Nagoya Japan, this large vintage Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate is summertime perfect.

The pattern features pastel colors of green and yellow that create a lovely background for the many florals attached. Each medley holds colorful flowers separated by detailed borders with shells, scrolling, and white china to emphasize each. The result is a light, breezy pattern reminiscent of the summer garden.

The blank is a double-spout gravy boat with attached underplate. It is gilded on rims and base, set against a brilliantly glazed finish. The larger size is of a substantial weight and a well-balanced serving piece.

WHY I LIKE IT: The larger size and double-spouts are suited for easy-serving. The pastel floral pattern create a perfect summer presentation. Whether using for gravy, sauces, or berries (a wonderful presentation!), this Gravy Boat is multi-functional at today's moderne table.
