DESCRIPTION: Personally, there are days when I wear a favorite brooch with jeans and a shirt or sweater, and always receive a compliment. Whether I select a costume or fine jewelry piece, the simple addition of a brooch to an outfit is what being a tastemaker is all about. This favorite fashion accessory is one you won’t see every day and when you do, it’s most often in the office or at an evening event. Adding a brooch to your most casual outfits, whether to run errands or while on vacation, is a fashion statement to be noticed!
This vintage Jonette Jewelry (J.J.) brooch, crafted of goldtone and silvertone metal, features three rows of rhinestones (total of 15) The design resembles a feather with a crescent shape with silvertone metal with inset rhinestones that appear to ‘float’ because there is a design gap between the goldtone and silvertone. This brooch is whimsical and fun!
Jonette Jewelry of Providence Rhode Island produced novelty pieces between 1946-2006. The company’s earliest productions began in 1935 by Abraham Lisker as The Providence Jewelry Co., and evolved to become Lisker & Lisker. As a result of World War II and diminished metal supplies, the company was affected. After the war, production re-emerged as Jonette Jewelry through 2006.
WHY I LIKE IT: The rhinestones sparkle within a silver setting surrounded by Florentine texture of goldtone.
DIMENSIONS: 1-3/4” x 1-1/2”
