DESCRIPTION: From a Private Collection, this pair of candlesticks are magnificent. From the Augarten Vienna Porcelain Factory, Vienna Austria, the candlesticks boast restrained elegance with exceptional design elements.

The design is intricate and accented with colors of rich raspberry and blue that is unique. Elegant floral sprays are delicately placed upon each porcelain piece. Raised paste gold further accentuates the fine details of the candlesticks and glisten under soft candlelight.

The Augarten candlesticks are very nicely weighted with a wide decorative base. Under an excellent glazed sheen, an abundance of gold adds depth to a rich design that is perfectly suited for the very best décor.

This pair of Augarten Vienna candlesticks are rarely found.

A Bit of History. When the Royal Vienna Manufactory closed in 1864, Herend lost a fine porcelain manufacturing and decorating competitor. Decades later, in 1922, Augarten Vienna Porcelain factory formed and considered itself to be the successor to the original Royal Vienna Manufactory (“Old Vienna”), utilizing patterns of the past alongside new designs.

WHY I LIKE IT: These magnificent Augarten candlesticks represent the revival of an exceptional company and porcelain decorating excellence. They are brilliant in every detail with an elegant and gracious nod to “Old Vienna”.
