DESCRIPTION: From Vohenstrauss, Bavaria and the Johann Seltmann Porcelain Factory, this Demitasse is of a strong design.
The pattern is a blend of transferware and handpainted gilt, in bold colors on pristine white porcelain blanks. A solid burgundy of curved pattern is accented with gold flourishes on one side, and gold with black design on the opposite side. The cup is designed with slight indentations and has an angled handle; the matching saucer is scalloped with raised center and upswept edges. The curved design colors of burgundy and gold mimic the scalloped edge with artistic perfection accentuated by brilliant glaze finish.
WHY I LIKE IT: When serving espresso or bold coffees, a collection of demitasse sets are always stylish. Paired with sterling silver demitasse spoons and a light dessert, the setting announces a time to rejuvenate and enjoy a special time of day.
