This bone china set is from England and the pattern is of wheat. It hails from an estate collection of 1960s vintage cups and saucers.
On white porcelain, the footed cup is gracefully decorated with black stalks of wheat and violet/purple wheat flowers, offset with accent lines of fine gilding. The inside is pristine white and the handle is simple loop with gold.
The matching saucer is upswept with contemporary lines and a matching wheat pattern, with edges rimmed in gold. This set has retained its beautiful gloss finish and elegance.
WHY I LIKE IT: When I host special afternoon events, each round table is covered with floor (or lawn) length table linen, and each place setting has a unique beverage setting. It includes multiple crystal beverage stemware with a vintage cup and saucer set placed above each charger. The vintage designs and colors are varied, always interesting, and a distinct highlight of the luncheon.
Upon leaving, guests are welcome to take their vintage cup and saucer set home to enjoy again and again, and a reminder of that charming afternoon spent with dear friends. They also select a hospitality gift from a decorated basket filled with special coffee and tea blends, fresh pastries, cookies and artisan chocolates.
