"Curating the Past for the Future"
Define your decor and gift-giving style with ModerneAntiques and Collectibles!
DESCRIPTION: If you love Lenox, this regal cup and saucer set is sure to become a favorite!
On signature lustrous ivory bone china, Lenox USA offered “Cretan” tableware for 47 years and one can understand the attraction. This is an older piece.
This pattern seems to have been inspired by Greek architecture. The porcelain is exquisitely ribbed in design and texture. Each ridge is defined under a generous glaze that accentuates. The cup features an angled handle covered in gold, attached to an angular cup with footed base. A Grecian key design of gold wraps around the cup with a simple thin gold trim that defines the base.
The matching saucer is upswept and absolute perfection, which is the trademark of Lenox, the most trusted tabletop name in the U.S. market.
The set is nicely weighted and yet transparent in natural sunlight…a rare combination in the porcelain world.
WHY I LIKE IT: This is one of those pieces that inspires a person to start a new collection. Whether this becomes your favorite cup & saucer set for evening coffee/tea, or is the starter piece of your next vintage dinnerware, the design is uniquely Lenox.
