This handsome antique gravy boat with attached underplate portrays an Asian design on white porcelain and once sold at the John Wanamaker Department Store in Philadelphia, PA. The pristine white porcelain is the backdrop for a blue design, florals, and cockatiel blue birds perched on cherry blossom branches. The gravy boat is trimmed in gilt and the attached underplate features heavy gilt on handles.

Why I like it: The white porcelain is a nod to a very contemporary look and the design with antique gilt is a nod to historical interest.

TRIPLE BACKSTAMP: JPL France Mark 5 in green 1891-1932; Limoges France 1905-1911; Wanamaker’s Mark in green, overglaze importing mark early 1900’s

Circa: early 1900’s

DIMENSIONS: 9”L x 3-1/5”H x 5.5”W

CONDITION: Excellent; slight loss of gilt on gravy boat.
