DESCRIPTION: A rare find, this elegantly appointed silver electroplated Biscuit Basket comes to us from England. It was made by A.S. & G.R., a company formed by two well-respected silversmiths Alexander Scott and George Randle. Each had separate business success and for nine years, worked together creating exceptional pieces such as this one.

The basket is nearing antique status and in remarkable condition. There is no loss of silver, its brilliance is intact, and this piece glimmers from all angles. The intricate design is reticulated and pierced; combining a pattern of swirls, florals, and fleur-de-lis inspired sprays. The elegant design is offset with solid areas that contrast nicely. The folding handle is ¼” wide and of substantial thickness. The basket rests on a footed base lifting it 1” off surface.

WHY I LIKE IT: This piece proudly represents the best in English silver design and the art of the silversmith.
