DESCRIPTION: This hand-painted vintage Cup & Saucer Set from Japan is of an intricate design enhanced with gold overglaze scrolling and detailing on white porcelain. The center of each piece features a gold medallion surrounded by simple floral sprays and gold scrolls. The dominate color is mauve and it complements the design elements nicely . The tri-footed cup exterior is white with a soft glaze, debossing, and pink border with gold accents. The matching saucer accents the cup design and also trimmed in gold. A wonderful set!
United China & Glass Co (UCAGCo) of New Orleans and New York, imported porcelain product from Japan between 1854-1961. The company was acquired by Sammons Enterprises in 1956 and closed in 1961.
WHY I LIKE IT: The mauve border and intricate design is an effective design combination; the 3-footed cup is unexpected. Fancy!
