DESCRIPTION: This Bauer Rosenthal HandPainted Bowl is an exquisite example of Bavarian porcelain artistry and design. It is an elegant and gracious early-Rosenthal porcelain piece.
From a Private Collection, the antique HandPainted Rosenthal Bowl features a soft lavender ground on pristine white porcelain. Under a beautiful glaze, the artist has painted a display of detailed violets in cluster, gold swirled accents and accented white embossed porcelain blooms. The fluted edge is bordered in mint green and a lovely complement to the HandPainted florals.
The antique porcelain blank is molded on both sides with embossed details that create a spectacular dimensional piece. The shape of the bowl features a fluted edge and foot base, gently upswept sides, and quadruple pierced handles. Pieces such as this are striking in that precision and expertise are required to form such a bowl.
A Bit of History: The Bauer Rosenthal & Co. was formed in Germany 1897. The company produced high quality porcelain wares and was renamed Philip Rosenthal & Co after 1903. It was acquired by Rosenthal in 1939.
WHY I LIKE IT: This antique Bauer Rosenthal bowl is large and shares a subtle yet captivating design pattern. The pierced handles and fluted rim define a timeless style to mix with your moderne décor with flair.
