Here is a dashing teapot with an elegant shape and a very decorative design of flowers and leaves using Imari colors of iron red, cobalt blue and gilding. It was made by Thomas Rose's factory on the canal in Coalport. This design is their pattern 162 (numbered on the bottom), gracefully arranged to cover the surface of the teapot and stand. The teapot is ten and a quarter inches in overall length. There is a very small repaired chip on the top edge of the spout and two repaired chips on the edge of the lid. One small area of staining. No damage otherwise, in bright and very attractive condition, with very little wear to the glazes.
