Here is a delightful black-ground cup and saucer marked with the Berlin iron cross and scepter. The decoration is unusual: there is a snake writhing around the circumference of the cup; it has actually twisted itself up in a knot on the front! Arranged around it are flowers and leaves. The saucer is almost five and a half inches across and the set is in splendid condition with no damage and no obvious wear.
