Here is a stunning design of bright and vibrant flowers against a white ground and surrounded by a cobalt and gilt scale pattern. The gilding is beautiful, and the flower bouquets are just as beautiful. The edges are scalloped to add an extra flair. The saucer is five and three-quarters inches across and there is no damage to either piece. The decoration is in splendid condition with hardly any wear. Please enlarge the photos for a close inspection. Ridgway often added the pattern number in the fractional form shown on this set, which is pattern 1296 of the second round of numbers—they made thousands of patterns! Like Spode, Rockingham and Worcester, they were one of the major ceramics manufacturers of the nineteenth century in England. An entrancing set!
