Here is a sprightly eighteenth-century Worcester teapot. It has an appealing English version of an antique Chinese Export style of decoration in the famille rose taste with beautiful fresh colors of turquoise, lilac, red and bright green with added gilding. A simple red border runs around the rim and the flower finial is picked out in colors. This is a standard shape of Worcester teapot, and the lack of a factory mark probably means that it was meant to compete directly with the enormous number of Chinese Export teapots, always unmarked, that were imported into England at this time. The Chinoiseries decoration is in an exemplary state, fresh and bright. The only flaws are several very minute chips on the spout (shown) and likewise some minute chips to the tips of the petals on the finial. I can touch edges of the finial up with color before delivery if you prefer. It stands five and three-quarters inches tall.
