This teapot displays bright, luscious flowers in stark contrast with bold cobalt blue panels and gilding. It is marked with the pattern number 1161 and is six and three-quarter inches high and in excellent condition. There are several chips to the support flange for the lid that are invisible when the lid is in place, plus a little gilt wear. A number of factories made teapots that were more of less identical to this shape, and I haven’t been able to discover which factory made it. Coalport is one good option, but New Hall and Ridgway are also possibilities.
