Here is a delightful trio of tea cup, coffee cup and saucer from a tea service that would have been quite a standout when it was fresh from the factory—which this set appears to be. It could also be by Coalport or Herculaneum or a few other factories, but I leave those distinctions up to the new owner. The handle of the cup certainly looks like a Spode handle, but others also used it. The set is marked only with a blue dot on the bottom of all pieces, which is not a standard way of marking. Whoever made it, they did a great job! The saucer is five and a half inches across and the only wear on the set is the slight loss of some gilding on the inner band of the saucer. Everything else is perfect.
