Here is a wonderfully naïve design of a Chinese man standing amid temples in a vast landscape. It is decorated in gilding and brown enamel against a white ground, and the scenes on cup and saucer differ in design. The handle is very unusual; I’ve never seen one like it, and if anyone can identify the maker I’d appreciate the information. The saucer is five and a half inches in diameter, and there is no damage or wear other than some slight gilt loss to the unique handle.
